We accord great importance to children being one with nature and hence offer a lot of opportunities to explore things around them. We believe a broad based, informal and joyous curriculum that involves activities with hands on experience, exploration, team work and lots of music, dance and role play.
The activities are in sync with the topic of the month and are planned keeping in mind all aspects of development. Lot of stress is given to inculcating good habits, life skills and promoting child’s learning in a happy atmosphere. Activities involving all five senses largely though the Montessori methodology while giving a concept are followed. Focus is on developing skills of observation, analysing and understanding using different approaches for the same concept.

Few of our activities in regular curriculum are:
» Circle time :- It is a time of bonding and connecting with the whole class. Children of this age group learn a lot by interacting with one another. It also helps them develop positive attitude towards themselves, school and peer group.
» Dramatisation and Role plays:- This activity helps to develop life-skills like confidence, self expression, leadership, courage etc.
» Story telling:- It creates interest in children when the character comes live in front of them. Children learn about good social habits, traffic rules, sharing, etc through stories. Children also develop language skills as they narrate and listen to stories.
» Concepts:- Children at Saplings learn concepts like fruits, vegetables, transport etc. through engaging activities that arouses their interest and maintains their level of curiosity. This is done through an integrated approach where child is able to recognise, learns related vocabulary, colour, shape etc. through one concept.
» Puppet play :- Children connect to puppets as their friends. To keep up their interest level high, puppet play is done by teachers to inculcate various concepts like good habits, sharing, caring, etc. It also helps them develop their vocabulary.
» Dance:- Children are involved in free dance which helps in building their gross motor skills (Large muscles like those in legs/arms). It also infuses in them a sense of rhythm, flexibility and co-ordination.
» Rhymes & songs :- Children learn a lot by actions and are attracted to sounds, therefore, rhymes serve as an active medium for making learning fun. Songs for teaching good habits, using magical words like sorry, thank you are also very helpful
